New Ross Piano Festival celebrates Beethoven: Finghin Collins and Ellen Jansson
The 2020 New Ross Piano Festival was all planned and about to go to print with the programme in March when the virus struck, and it joined the many hundreds of thousands of organisations whose plans were overturned. But good news – there will be a token concert with a live audience to mark the cancelled Festival on what would have been the closing day. There is an increasing longing for live music. The concert will take place on Sunday afternoon September 27th at 3.00pm.
The performers will be the festival’s artistic director Finghin Collins and the young Cork pianist Ellen Jansson, while the programme will celebrate Beethoven in his 250th anniversary year by presenting three sonatas spanning his entire career.
