As we all know, Beethoven missed out on so many of his 250th birthday celebrations in the wash-out year that was 2020. It might now be March 2021, but we are still celebrating his brilliance and his ground-breaking contribution to the cello sonata form.
MfG Artistic Director Finghin Collins is joined by five different cellists for a marathon performance of all five of Beethoven’s cello sonatas, spanning his entire career.
Musicologist Richard Wigmore provides engaging insights on the composer’s life, the historical context and the music itself.

Marc Coppey’s appearance in CELLISSIMO is in partnership with the French Embassy in Ireland.
