The Hunt Museum in Limerick is hiring a Head of Collections and Interpretation.

This is a new post for the museum, aiming to place significant emphasis on the Collections and their interpretation for visitors to the museum and via online platforms. Responsibilities include new interpretation and display of the Hunt Museum’s collections and heritage, to inspire, educate and engage a wide range of visitors, in accordance with the museum’s vision to change lives with culture, creativity and learning. This means playing a key role in the development and delivery of a first-class visitor experience and the ability to lead and develop the Curatorial team.

You will manage a coordinator linked to European projects and an assistant for the digitisation of the collection. You will work closely with the Curator of Education and Outreach and Head of Museum Operations, who manages the Visitor Experience.

You will be someone who has a deep interest in at least one aspect of the museum’s collection. Your education is likely to be in humanities or social science: e.g.: history, archaeology; geography at university degree level and a postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
