Acclaimed ensemble Icebreaker celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landings with a Brian Eno Apollo programme at the National Concert Hall.
Icebreaker, the ensemble that David Bowie said he would ‘drive a mile’ to see live, will revive its acclaimed Brian Eno Apollo programme featuring pedal steel guitarist BJ Cole played to film of the Apollo space missions.
This special performance of the album considered Eno’s most significant work has been described in The Guardian as ‘moving and sublime’. The music matches the beauty and tranquillity of the moon with the dizzying scale of the feat of engineering involved.
The programme also includes Epizootics by the late, great Scott Walker, featuring voice and video from the singer, and music by newly-minted MBE Anna Meredith, Chicago footwork artist JLin and a rare chance to hear Gavin Bryars’ The Archangel Trip.
