Drawing from the Well Seamus Heaney HomePlace

Monday, 12 September 2022, 7.30pm

ITMA presents an evening of traditional music, song and dance in the company of four of Ireland's leading contemporary traditional artists: Laoise Kelly (harp), Cormac Begley (concertina), Edwina Guckian (dancer) and Brían MacGloinn (singer) at the Seamus Heaney Homeplace, Bellaghy.

Each of these four artists has contributed to the ITMA online series Drawing from the Well, a project which invites artists to delve into ITMA's rich archival collections as a source of inspiration for new work. The 'new work' created by the artists from these immersive archival sojourns is freely available to view online at https://www.itma.ie/drawingfromthewell

The performance at the Seamus Heaney Homeplace on Monday 12 September is the second venue in a national tour visiting the National Concert Hall Dublin, 11 September (featuring 16 artists); The LinenHall, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, 13 September; Áras Éanna, Inis Oirr, Co. Galway, 14 September; St. John's Theatre, Listowel, Co. Kerry, 15 September and Birr Theatre and Arts Centre, Birr, Co. Offaly, 16 September.
