Learning and Participation Officer, Opera
The Royal Opera House seeks a Learning and Participation Officer to add capacity to the opera-focused part of our programme, engaging people with opera and dramatic-singing.
This work will focus on:
– Open Up - a new weekly open programme of daytime events and festivals, as we transform the ROH into a welcoming and accessible daytime venue: including Sing at the ROH, Live at Lunch, Recitals at Lunch and ROH Lates
– Community Residencies - developing relationships across the health and well-being arts sector and embedding an inclusive culture in our Covent Garden home
– Special commissions, supporting the creation and production of new work and re-imaginings of the stories of our stages.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your experience of opera and music education and project management to one of the UK`s busiest theatre.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
– First-hand experience of working in arts education via a professional organization or in a school environment
– An understanding of opera and classical music and the ability to read music
– Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize and identify future workload
– A track record of dealing efficiently and sensitively with community groups, artists, the general public and a wide range of external and internal stakeholders
– The ability to self-motivate and work effectively in a high-paced environment
– Excellent communication & writing skills with a high standard of English
