Lecturer in Sound and Music Theory

Lincoln School of Film and Media seeks a suitably qualified and experienced lecturer in the area of sound theory. The school has a dynamic professional and creative culture and we are seeking to maintain our national reputation for excellent and innovative teaching and a positive student experience. You will have a PhD, or working towards one, and a passion for developing research and teaching in the field of sound and music studies.

Principal duties include: devising and leading critical studies and theory-practice workshops, seminars and lectures, drawing upon expertise in at least two of the following areas: sound studies; auditory culture; theories and methods of soundscape and field recording; audio-visual theory and analysis; sound and identity; supervision of undergraduate dissertations covering a broad range of audio related topics (e.g. film and game sound, auditory culture, popular music, radio); teaching on key concepts in sound plus related areas. You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of teaching materials (lectures and seminars) and related assessment and feedback.
