ØXN has announced the release of their debut album, 'CYRM'. Set to be released through Claddagh Records on 27th October 2023, the album features six tracks and will be available in both vinyl and CD formats.
The band, consisting of Radie Peat, Katie Kim, John ‘Spud’ Murphy, and Eleanor Myler, has also scheduled two live performances at The Sugar Club in Dublin on 31st October and 1st November 2023. These events will be presented by Enthusiastic Eunuch and Foggy Notions, with Iona Zajac supporting on 31st October and Poor Creature on 1st November. Tickets for both shows are now available, priced at €25 inclusive of the booking fee. Additionally, ticket and album bundle options can be availed from www.tickets.ie.
ØXN previously made an introduction with their single, 'Love Henry', which was available on digital streaming platforms in June. A 12” vinyl version of the single, which also included the b-side track 'Ninetto', was released in July.
The album 'CYRM' spans just over 45 minutes and comprises four songs penned by band members - 'Cruel Mother', 'The Trees They Do Grow High', 'Love Henry', and 'The Feast'. It also includes two cover tracks: ‘The Wife of Michael Cleary’ by Maija Sofia and ‘Farmer in the City’ by Scott Walker.
ØXN is the first band to sign with Claddagh Records in 18 years. The band's journey began as a collaboration between Radie Peat and Katie Kim in 2018. It later expanded to its current quartet during the lockdown, resulting in a streamed live performance from a Martello tower in Dublin.
Claddagh Records signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Universal Music Ireland in 2020, marking a significant step in the label's journey.
