Associate Artists

Welsh National Opera is searching for two young singers to join its Associate Artist programme, which is expanding to open up places to a wider variety of applicants.

If you’ve dreamed of taking to the opera stage, singing with a world-class orchestra and telling some of the greatest stories ever written then this could be the opera-tunity for you. Release your inner diva, your hero or villain, your comedian or tragedian and start on the path to a wonderful career.

Applications are now open, with auditions at venues in Wales and England during November/December and recalls in January/February, giving more people the opportunity to be seen by WNO’s Artistic team.

While we do require candidates to have received a certain level of music education, we also welcome applications from those who have not previously had professional experience or Conservatoire training.

World-renowned Welsh soprano Rebecca Evans is the programme’s Ambassador, and will mentor both singers throughout the year.

This is an unmissable opportunity for two young people at the start of their singing careers to access professional training and mentoring, while also performing and covering roles with our world class opera company.
