Tionól Dhún na nGall 2023

Friday, 17 February 2023, 8.00pm

A clear highlight of the piping calendar is the Tionól Dhún na nGall held in An Píobaire Mór, Turlough Mac Suibhne’s patch of Gaoth Dobhair. This event has grown from year to year with strong attendances stretching from Sligo to Dundalk and right across all the northern counties.
This event provides tuition in piping at all levels as well as reed making and instrument maintenance. The recitals and concert are always a highlight providing the older generation with the opportunity to marvel at the skills of the younger generation of players as well as the strong presence of female pipers. The younger generation are able to take in the inspired playing of the older players who have invested decades in piping.
Possibly the most important aspect of Tionól Dhún na nGall is that it affords players and followers of the uilleann pipes a great occasion to meet, socialise, exchange ideas and opinions and enjoy great uilleann piping in an uplifting atmosphere.

Tionól Dhún na nGall 2022 will take place on Friday 17th February to Sunday 29th February in Teach Hiúdaí Beag, Bunbeg, Ionad Pobail Dhún Lúiche, Moneymore and Crolly Distillery, Crolly.
