Hungarian Rhapsody | Chamber Choir Ireland and Zoltán Pad
A concert of Hungarian choral music, from Ligeti's Lux Aeterna to Bartók's Hungarian Folksongs.
Zoltán Pad, chief conductor of the Hungarian Radio Choir, leads Chamber Choir Ireland in an afternoon concert of Hungarian choral music, bringing the rich choral tradition of his home country to the beautiful Hugh Lane Sculpture Gallery, as part of the gallery's free Sundays @ Noon concert series.
Featuring works by some of the world's most celebrated choral composers, such as Ligeti's Lux Aeterna (made famous in Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey), Bartók's Hungarian Folksongs, as well as works by Zoltán Kodály, Ferenc Liszt, and composers from the surrounding region.
