Mobility Scheme for Artists and Culture Professionals

Wednesday, 15 May 2019, 9.00am

Funded by Creative Europe, the Artist Mobility Scheme will help individual artists and culture professionals to move between European countries, develop audiences and collaborations, find new inspiration, and contribute to Europe’s diverse cultural ecosystems.

The Pilot Artist Mobility Scheme will allow between 350-500 artists or culture professionals to take part in this experimental program which will test how best to facilitate cross-border mobility for artists over the course of six months from April to September, 2019.

The Mobility Scheme is managed by i-Portunes on behalf of the European Commission and involves a consortium led by Goethe-Institut with the Institut Français, Izolyatsia and Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts. i-Portunes will test a small-scale mobility scheme with 500 people. The results of this pilot project will be key in shaping a new action in the Creative Europe programme, 2021-2027.

i-Portunes will issue three calls between April and September 2019 to fund the mobility of individual artists and culture professionals of all ages, nationalities, educational qualifications and levels of experience from countries participating in the Creative Europe programme.* In order to achieve a critical mass, this pilot project will focus on two sectors: the Performing Arts and the Visual Arts.
