"Sing Again"

"Sing Again"

Saturday, 14 May 2022, 7.30pm

Having been unable to perform for over two and a half years, The Guinness Choir is greatly looking forward to presenting its “Sing Again” concert – a programme of popular choral pieces, chosen from our extensive repertoire of over 70 years. Come and enjoy beautiful works, including Mozart’s ‘Ave Verum Corpus’, Bruckner’s ‘Locus Iste’, Rheinberger’s ‘Abendlied’, and Fauré’s ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’, along with works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Gjeilo and Whitacre.

The programme includes the first ever performance of ‘The Weaver’ by Judith Ring. This setting of a poem by Diane Tierney was specially commissioned by The Guinness Choir with the support of the Arts Council.

Our Special guests in this concert will be Catherine Redding, soprano, Niall O’Sullivan, trumpet and David Leigh, organ. All of this in the magnificent surroundings of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

We are thrilled that our concert is the flagship event for the Culture Date with Dublin 8 Festival.

The Guinness Choir wishes to acknowledge the generous support for this concert by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sports and Media, and Dublin City Council.
