Cooperative Commission: Open Call for Artists

Wednesday, 21 July 2021, 5.00pm

Creative Places Tuam, led by Create, has launched a new commission opportunity for collaborative and socially engaged artists and/or arts collective, working at the intersection of art, theory/research and social action/ justice.

Proposals are sought for a 15 month Cooperative Commission commencing in September 2021 that engages with, and responds to, the unique town of Tuam, located north of Galway City in the west of Ireland.

They wish to work with artists and/or arts collective that are seeking to further explore the potential of the town & hinterlands through collaborative and socially engaged art making practices. Creative Places Tuam is inviting proposals to deliver an engaging project that will embed the successful collective within the diverse communities that make up Tuam.

Creative Places Tuam will support the selected artists and/or arts collective by facilitating an inclusive and intersectional creative axis where art making, co-production, learning and knowledge exchange are the principals on which the relationship between the selected artists/ arts collective and the community is built. The commission is open to local, national and international arts practitioners or a combination of same. Collectives applying can be previously established or newly formed for this commission. Please note that Creative Places Tuam and Create cannot administer the formation of new collectives.
