European String Teachers Association (UK) is seeking a Sub Editor.

This is a part time position on a freelance basis working from home. We are looking for someone with experienced editorial skills and a proven track record of producing and managing high quality content for print, digital and social media platforms. The candidate will have a good working knowledge of string performance and teaching.

Key responsibilities:
The Sub-editor will work under supervision from the Editor, and will be required to carry out the
following tasks:
1. Commission and source articles for upcoming magazines based on content outlines supplied by the Editor
2. Liaise with contributors to ensure articles meet requirements for content and word length.
3. Work with contributors to source suitable photographs and / or other graphics for inclusion within articles
4. Complete initial proofing before submitting to the Editor for final proofing and approval
5. Be prepared to suggest ideas for articles or other content.
6. Dissemination of news relevant to ESTA members and the wider string community through the most appropriate communication platforms
7. Collate any ideas for content suggested by ESTA (UK) Trustees or Executive Committee members, or by any ESTA (UK) member
8. Preparing, managing and delivering regular high-quality content to our digital platforms.

Requirements
1. Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
2. Excellent string performance & pedagogy knowledge.
3. Proficiency with desktop publishing tools such as photoshop.
4. Proficiency with mainstream video editing programmes such as Premier pro or Final Cut
5. Proficiency with social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer
6. Understanding of copyright law.
7. The ability to work independently and within an established team.
