Lewis Barfoot - HOME album tour
Ethereal folk-pop. Lewis Barfoot releases her hotly awaited 2nd album, HOME with her full band.
Lewis Barfoot is a contemporary folk artist from Cork who has been captivating audiences with her beautiful voice that “Melts the Hearts of Angels” according to Folk Radio UK. Tonight she launches her new album HOME. This autobiographical album of largely original compositions weaves a tapestry of folk-pop brilliance into Lewis’s ethereal sonic landscape. Inspired by Lewis’ epic return to Ireland and her finding belonging, freedom and sovereignty, not only in her skin as a woman, but in her motherland. It is a coming of age album, in which Lewis sheds a painful past handed down to her by her foremothers and finds her power, peace and her home in Ireland. HOME includes ballads to soothe your heart, catchy upbeat tunes with a hint of Paul Simon, some traditional folk songs from Ireland and the UK and a deeply powerful aCapella finale. With a fearless and disarming honesty in her lyrics, this is an album to stir your soul and inspire you to greatness.
Lewis will be joined by her beautiful band on Violin, Clarinet, Ukulele and percussion. Lewis’s debut album, Glenaphuca, received immense support from RTÉ 1, FRUK, BBC Radio Ulster, and RTÉ na Gaeltachta.
