Edinburgh College of Art, part of the the University of Edinburgh, is seeking a Specialist Technician in Music and Sound Technology for a part-time, open-ended contract. The role is based at Lauriston Place, Edinburgh, and requires 21 hours of work per week. The technician will support students and staff in technical teaching, research, and projects across various disciplines, primarily within the School of Music. Responsibilities include managing complex Sound and Music Technology facilities, diagnosing technical issues, and ensuring health and safety compliance.

Requirements
– In-depth technical knowledge in electroacoustics, sound design, location recording, live events, and immersive audio.
– Proficiency in troubleshooting IT-related issues within MAC OS.
– Ability to present technical ideas to a diverse audience.
– Understanding of health and safety protocols in live events and educational settings.
