Mauricio Ribeiro at The Dublin Jazz Co-Op
Mauricio Ribeiro (BR) has been in music industry for 25 years, working as a composer, arranger, orchestrator and music producer. He has played with some hugely famous Brazilian artists, like Elomar, Alceu Valença, Toninho Horta, Marcus Viana and Orquestra Ouro Preto, and has collaborated with many others independent artists in his home country. Mauricio also has released works in Classic Music, Film, TV and Dance.
Joining us on the 1st December, Mauricio presents "Sozinho e bem acompanhado" is his third studio album, a double CD that puts together 22 songs sorted out from his last 20 years of career. This work is very representative of the music currently made in Brazil, combining complex, unexpected harmony and structure with meaningful lyrics that talk about Brazilian society and politics. The CD was recorded between Brazil, Portugal and Spain, gathering many artists of the contemporary Brazilian music scenario.
In the concert, Mauricio plays his tunes from the CD, mixing them with some of his brand new creations, as also with some other contemporary Brazilian composers.
The "Sozinho e bem acompanhado" Tour started in Portugal, passing by different stages in Porto, Algarve and Lisbon. After that, Dublin, Valencia and Barcelona, which will be followed in 2020 with concerts already booked in Italy, France, Germany and United Kingdom.
