Radio 1 Music and BBC Sounds Music are looking for an Assistant producer to work across their teams. This is a multi-skilled role, working to the Radio 1 Music Team Editor as well as working on tasks set by the Production Manager BBC Sounds.

You will have a love of radio and music and will be expected to have an understanding, passion and knowledge of a wide range of music genres featured on BBC Radio1 and BBC Sounds, as well as its brand extensions (such as Radio 1 Dance). The candidate will also require an instinctive understanding and appreciation of modern youth culture and cultural and digital trends.

Radio 1 Music team responsibilities will involve assisting the team in the provision of the musical output of the network, with particularly emphasis on daytime programming. You’ll also work across the musical output for Radio 1 Dance and any future Radio 1 brand extensions.

BBC Sounds Music team responsibilities will involve supporting the team with off-schedule and linear mix production, working closely with the Production Manager and BBC Sounds music producers and APs.

You’ll be an experienced assistant producer, with a passion for Radio 1 and content across BBC Sounds. Experience in audio production is essential, and the ability to multi-task will be important for this role as working across 2 teams. Training will be provided for any areas/software that you haven’t perhaps used before.
