Part Time Musician/Teacher (Upper Strings)

Sistema Scotland is seeking a Part Time Musician/Teacher (Upper Strings) for its Big Noise Raploch & Fallin programme. The post offers an annual salary range of £32,246 to £37,023, pro rata.

Sistema Scotland’s goal is to enhance lives and strengthen communities, with a focus on early intervention and stimulating generational social change, confidence, aspiration, community cohesion, pride and skills development. Its Big Noise programmes are designed to engage children and their families, and currently run in six locations across Scotland.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team at Big Noise Raploch & Fallin, delivering the programme to children from pre-school, primary school, secondary school and adults. The team utilises the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive and understanding, while developing innovative ways to engage children and families, including home visits and community performances.

Applicants must hold a degree or equivalent, have experience working with large and diverse groups of children, and demonstrate a track record of success in providing music instruction to children on their specialist instrument. The post is permanent, working three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) during school term time only.
