May Singing Session with guest Fionnuala Maxwell

May Singing Session with guest Fionnuala Maxwell

Thursday, 30 May 2019, 8.30pm

A big Malahide Welcome in May to Fionnuala Maxwell, the renowned Leitrim singer, collector and composer of traditional songs.
Fionnuala has been inspirational in performing, preserving and passing on the rich heritage of traditional singing & songs, among children and adults alike. She does this with such aplomb and integrity at regular classes during the year (Carrick Trad; Fred Finn’s, Sligo; John Dungan CCE, Granard), and at many summer shcools and festivals, including The Joe Mooney Summer School, Drumshanbo.

She has won numerous awards for singing and composing, has collaborated with Dervish on the Leitrim Equation Project, and has recorded a superb CD Tending the Flame: Sharing our Songs of Connacht with The Carrick Trad Singers.

This is guaranteed to be a wonderful night of songs, from both Fionnuala, and singers from the floor, so, get here early on Thursday 30th May 2019. As this will be our LAST session before the summer, we hope that you will make an extra special effort to join us @ 8.30pm, St Sylvester’s GAA Club, Church Road, Malahide.
