SHRINE by Emma Martin /United Fall
SHRINE evokes a grotto-like space manifested by sculpture, light and sound. Using materials and symbols associated with the opulence of churches, shrines and palaces, the viewer is also confronted with the familiar, banal detritus we leave behind. At the heart of SHRINE is a soundscape that rides through apocalyptic disaster, the abyss, and the birth of a new world.
Audiences can visit the SHRINE installation on Fri 26 May from 12 – 4 pm, restarting every half hour, free of charge.
SHRINE is one part of KING | SHRINE, a new performance and installation work by renowned choreographer, Emma Martin, that celebrates the End and imagines a new beginning. KING | SHRINE is the first part of a new body of work titled Dark Days need Ceremony.
KING | SHRINE is on as part of Dublin Dance Festival.
