Tate Publishing is hiring a Senior Editor.

The successful candidate will have a passion for art, and for Tate’s mission to increase the public’s understanding and enjoyment of art.

You will have strong track record in commissioning exciting and original content, and know how to take books to market successfully. You will have a keen awareness of the market for art books in the UK and internationally, understand current publishing and consumer trends, and be able to translate ideas into business opportunities quickly.

You will have an excellent track record in project managing a range of publications from initial concept and negotiating contracts through to publication, and will be able to ensure that all books are delivered to acquisition specification, to budget and to schedule. You will have worked closely with designers and creatives, have an eye for design and an appreciation of its importance in a visually driven business.

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusivity within publishing or a relevant sector. You will have proven organisation and time-management skills and first-class communication and negotiation skills. Enthusiasm for working as part of a small team is a must for this busy and varied role, with a high level of responsibility and independence.
