MacEwan University’s Department of Music is seeking a vocalist and educator specializing in Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music to fill a 11-month Full-time Limited-Term Appointment position as Instructor and Section Head, Voice, August 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

The successful candidate will have a significant profile as a performer and must be a highly experienced educator with a demonstrated record of teaching at the post-secondary level, including private studio and classroom teaching, and ensemble directing.

Experience in administration at the department level is an asset. As an instructor, duties include private lesson instruction, classroom teaching (master class), and ensemble directing.

As Section Head, Voice, duties include supervising the voice-area instructors and overseeing courses and course outlines, adjudicating auditions and juried recitals, organizing concerts and other events associated with the Voice area, and participating in the governance of the Department (Department Council and Faculty Council meetings, other light duties).
