DUO CHAGALL are one of Ireland's most acclaimed classical music partnerships: Dublin-born violinist Gillian Williams and her husband, French cellist Arun Rao, have performed a wealth of chamber music since their first duo concert back in 1993 at the Alliance Française, Kildare St. They are artistic directors of the popular series Autumn Sounds, held every September at the state residence, Farmleigh House. DUO CHAGALL premiered a high number of contemporary works at the Hugh Lane, including the two works by Irish composers performed today. They also directed and curated the five-concerts series French Chamber Music in the Great War between November 2014 and November 2015 at the same venue, to enthusiastic audiences. DUO CHAGALL are honoured to record and stream this concert from the sculpture hall, the first such event since the cessation of music performances there at the beginning of March.
