Cork2020sHaydnSymphoniesSeries 3/iv
The 2023-24 segment of this epic series continues with performances of Nos 6 ("Le matin"), 7 ("Le midi") and 8 ("Le soir"). These colourful works were composed by Haydn in response to a specific suggestion of his patron, Prince Nikolaus, when he commenced his employment at the Esterházy Palace in 1761, and reflect the virtuosity of its orchestra. The Cork Haydn Orchestra is led by Liz Charleson and conducted by Geoffrey Spratt. Admission is €10 (€5 for full-time students); seats can be reserved in advance (advised) through emailing [email protected] or purchased at the door.
