As recipient of the 2021 Liam O’Flynn Award, Clare concertina player Jack Talty brings together an ensemble of leading Irish musicians in a collaboration that honours the centrality of solo performance while also exploring sympathies between traditional ensemble playing and Minimalist composition. Culminating in a suite of original music, this project takes inspiration from Liam O’Flynn’s impressive capacity to reconcile many creative curiosities within one cohesive and personally authentic artistic voice. For this performance, Talty is joined by Neil Martin (cello, uilleann pipes and whistle); Aoife Ní Bhriain (fiddle); Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin (flute, voice and concertina); Síle Denvir (harp and voice); Matthew Berrill (clarinets) and Ruairí McGorman (Greek bouzouki).
