CMC presents Logic Pro X Clinic

Thursday, 5 November 2020, 4.00pm

Logic Pro X Clinic with Conor O'Boyle

The first in a series of CMC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events throughout November 2020 features a Logic Pro X Clinic with composer and producer Conor O’Boyle.

Software is a vital tool for professionals involved in the field of new music. Logic Pro X is a digital audio workstation (DAW) and MIDI sequencer software application for the macOS platform. However, like all software, it comes with limitations, quirks and features that can be frustrating when trying to achieve ideas, particularly within the idiom of contemporary music.

CMC is providing this clinic to assist with some of the challenges that composers and other contemporary music specialists may face when using Logic Pro X. Composer and producer Conor O’Boyle has experience in finding solutions to a variety of technical problems that may arise, from beginners to advanced users.

Following a general overview of Logic Pro X with CMC’s Linda O’Shea Farren, using a shared screen, Conor will address specific situations or challenges in relation to this software that participants may raise in advance. Those who sign up to participate are encouraged to email specific situations, challenges, questions, etc. in advance to [email protected]. All questions are valid - questions may be related to specific problems in relation to Logic Pro X software (please send in a photo/screenshot/description of what you are trying to do), or can be about general aspects of this software.

Registration is free of charge to participants, and all interested are welcome to participate.

About the presenter: Conor O'Boyle is a composer, orchestrator and producer from Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
