In response to the recent expansion of their creative writing programme as they move activities on-line, expand their reach across Northern Ireland, and engage with new partners and projects, Fighting Words Northern Ireland is now hiring its first Director.

Fighting Words Northern Ireland is a creative writing network for children and young people. Since 2015 they have been providing over 10,000 creative writing opportunities for schools and young writers ages 6-18, free of charge.

Their vision is for every young person in Northern Ireland to have an opportunity to discover and harness the power of their own imaginations by enabling them to enjoy a range of creative writing experiences that will grow their self-confidence, develop their attitudes and understandings, and build their communications and analytical skills.

The Director will lead the work to ensure that the Fighting Words creative writing approach is adopted and integrated across Northern Ireland. They will be responsible for the effective management and growth of Fighting Words Northern Ireland, including implementation of the agreed strategy, building sustainable income streams, coordinating partnerships, operational decision making and oversight of activities.
