IDA Awards
The IDA Awards grant round is a dedicated annual arts development programme, delivered through University of Atypical, that enables individual D/deaf and disabled artists working across a range of art forms to apply for funding to develop their professional artistic careers.
The bursaries provide valuable opportunities for each artist to produce a new high-quality creative work, receive training, or engage with professional mentoring.
Who can apply?
– iDA is for disabled/deaf artists. Applications can be from individuals or from a partnership of individual disabled/deaf artists working together on a collaborative artistic project.
– Artists with any type of impairment or disability, working in any artform.
– You must be ‘domiciled’ for tax purposes in Northern Ireland. This means you must have lived in Northern Ireland for a continuous period of 12 months prior to making the application.
– We welcome applications from emerging talent as well as from more established artists. However, iDA is only for people with artistic experience – you will need to supply support material as evidence.
The maximum grant is £3,000 and although grants have been made at this level, most grants are lower than this and are more likely to be at the £1,000 to £2,000 mark.
The IDA Awards scheme is managed by the University of Atypical on behalf of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
