From the moment 5-year-old Frances Gumm emerged from a hat box on stage and did a sensational impersonation of Al Jolson, the world was captivated. The Gumm Family were entertainers and Ethel Gumm was determined that her youngest daughter was going to be a star. Her name was changed from Frances Gumm to Judy Garland and when MGM cast her as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz she became known and loved all around the world.

Spellbound audiences watched as child-star Judy grew up on the screen and by 1955, she was the highest paid entertainer in the world.

Over the Rainbow tells the enthralling story of Judy Garland’s life and the heartbreak that lay behind those carefree songs and dance sequences.

Starring Linda Kenny, Damian Smith, Our Sunday Songbook Band, MD Alan Carney, MC Alf McCarthy and special guest: Lorraine Manley.
Written and Directed by Cathal MacCabe.
