Maynooth University’s Music Department is offering a 22-month Senior Postdoctoral Researcher position on the ‘Polyphonic Singing and Communities of Music Writing in Medieval Britain and Ireland, c. 1150 to c. 1350’ (BROKENSONG) project.

The role requires a candidate with a PhD in computational musicology, digital humanities, computer science, AI, mathematics/statistics, or a related field, and experience in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, XML, XSLT). The project involves digitally encoding medieval music manuscripts and analysing the data to reconstruct historical music practices.

The salary for the role is €52,716–€57,332 p.a. based on qualifications and experience.
