Salary (H3 Grade): pro-rata of £38,017 to £49,553 per annum plus pro-rata of £2,166 per annum London Weighting.

Music at Brunel attracts a fascinating and dynamic range of students from many musical backgrounds including classical, jazz, popular, folk, world and studio. Many have interests that cross those boundaries.

The Department of Arts and Humanities is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Music, with a specialism in media composition (music for film, television and games), for a part time (0.5 FTE), permanent post starting in September 2021. We are open to candidates with a range of previous experiences and can appoint candidates on either an Academic Education or Professional Practice contract.

This role includes leadership of our undergraduate modules in composition, leading composition seminars and workshops, and other teaching, lecturing, and project supervision appropriate to the appointee’s expertise.

Applicants will have a first degree in music; hold a PhD in music or be near completion; experience as a professional composer would be desirable. Experience of teaching at undergraduate level is essential, and the ability to teach across multiple musical styles is desirable.
