The role
The role of Staff Tutor is a key academic role. Duties include the management of our student-facing Associate Lecturers, contributing to the presentation of modules and qualifications in Music as well as to our inter-disciplinary Level One modules in Arts and Humanities, and supporting students within the School of Arts and Humanities. The role includes a minimum of 22 days p.a. (pro-rata) for research & scholarship.

The role will be homebased with occasional travel to the Open University’s Milton Keynes campus and elsewhere in the UK as required (with expenses for this reimbursed).

Skills and experience
You will need:
– A strong academic background in Music or a cognate area, ideally at least a PhD.
– Experience in teaching, and the management of teaching and student support.
– Ability to select, manage, motivate and provide staff development for Associate Lecturers.
– Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing and balancing a portfolio of diverse work to meet deadlines.
