Open Call: Emerging Curator Award

Black Church Print Studio is now inviting applications for its 2021 Emerging Curator Award.

This programme is designed to provide a platform for emerging curatorial research. This award is open to recent graduates* from academic backgrounds including Art Theory, Art History, Aesthetics and Fine Art backgrounds. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to realize a public exhibition of work at the prime location of The Library Project in Temple Bar in September 2021.

Black Church Print Studio is offering the successful applicant:
– A €500 curatorial fee
– A three week exhibition slot at The Library Project with an additional week for installation/take down
– Equitable payments for selected exhibiting artists***
– Curatorial award is inclusive of Black Church Print Studio members at a minimum ratio of 1:1 to any external invited artists.
– Creative autonomy
– Professionally designed graphics and invite
PR, marketing and administrative support
– Technical installation support
– Analyse & Experiment critical thinking session specific to the exhibition

Applicants are asked to send the following submission materials:
– Curator CV (2 page max) and a short biography
– Proposal of theme/concept for exhibition. (750 words max)
– Images of proposed/ related art works or other relevant support imagery eg. previous curatorial outcomes etc.
– Short biographies of proposed artists
– Target audiences
– A short statement of interest in working with Black Church Print Studio (150 words max)
