Traditional Music: Composed and presented by Lorcán Mac Mathúna (voice), Martin Tourish (accordion), and Éamonn Galldubh (pipes and flute).

The Gaelic world fell apart during the life of Aogáin Ó Rathaille. Born before the battle of the Boyne, he died in poverty during penal times. He was one of the chief poets of the new movement in Gaelic literature which produced the Aisling; the music of vision during a hopeless time.

We will travel with O Rathaille, through his poetry and music. O Rathaille wrote deep, bold and fierce poems that were once sung all over Munster. His magnificent and flowing poetry was a savage witness to a brutal and tragic Century. Its music still echoes.
