Funding Opportunity – Calling All Musicians

Funding Opportunity – Calling All Musicians

Friday, 14 August 2020, 11.00pm

U.S. Embassy Dublin is soliciting proposals from musicians and musical acts based in Ireland to participate in 30-minute online performances and potentially interviews as part of the Embassy’s new Calling All Musicians initiative. Each successful applicant (individual musician or entire musical act) will receive €1,000 as a participation honorarium.

Calling All Musicians aims to engage an Irish online audience and highlight how American music and culture have influenced Irish musicians. This new program is part of the Embassy’s public engagement efforts to highlight strong U.S.-Ireland cultural ties, support the arts, and stay connected with Irish audiences throughout the pandemic crisis.

Selected musicians or musical acts will do a 30-minute virtual performance and have the option to hold an interview with a moderator designated by the U.S. Embassy. Performances will include at least two songs, one of which must be a cover of a piece by an American act (such as an American composer, songwriter, performer, or band). The interview would include a discussion of how the musicians have been influenced by American music or culture.
