The Telepathic Lockdown Tapes
A new CD The Telepathic Lockdown Tapes from The Quiet Club (Mick O’Shea and Danny McCarthy) has just been released on Café Oto’s TakuRoku Label. It is of recordings made by the duo during Lockdown. On appointed days and times the duo performed in their separate studio’s for twenty minute durations. The resulting recordings were then combined to form The Telepathic Lockdown Tapes. They were combined unaltered and unedited.
On June 16th 2020 (Bloomsday) the artists inspired by Joyce, performed separately but at the same time. The recordings were then combined together unedited to form Telepathic Lockdown Tape No 7. This work is now installed in the tower of Lismore Castle Arts Gallery as part of “Lismore and Beyond” curated by Paul McAree Director Lismore Castle Arts.
Released by Café Oto London on their TakuRoku Label alongside some of the world leading artists who are also on the label including Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), David Toop , Otomo Yoshide and many others. Café Oto is a world leading venue for improvised music and sound art and The Quiet Club have appeared there on several occasions
