RIAM — Live from the Living Room, Digital Concert

Friday, 3 April 2020, 7.00pm

While the building of the Royal Irish Academy of Music itself may not be alive to the sound of music at present, the Academy has unveiled a new performance initiative entitled “RIAM – Live from the Living Room” to help lift spirits at this difficult time for everybody. The initiative brings uplifting music from the living rooms of RIAM musicians to yours.

Distinguished pianist and RIAM alumnus, Finghin Collins announced the series on Facebook and Twitter giving online audiences a taste of the musical potpourri in store. Garlanding the announcement and to whet musical appetites for what is to come, Finghin gave an inspiring performance of Chopin’s lyrical Nocturne in F sharp minor, op 15 no 2. He himself is one of a number of guests who will perform in the series for online audiences from the safety and quiet of their own homes in the weeks ahead.

Audiences can look forward to charming musical vignettes each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.00 pm on the Academy’s Facebook Page. “RIAM – Live from the Living Room”, which commences onMonday, March 30th at 7.00 pm, will feature RIAM staff, students, alumni and special surprise guests.
