Glyndebourne is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to work as a Senior Development Manager in their Development team to increase revenue generated from individual fundraising towards their overall objective. The Senior Development Manager will play a critical role in surpassing the annual target in the successful and busy Development department.

The Senior Development Manager will serve as an individual fundraiser at Glyndebourne, contributing to a strategy for the development of major gifts (donations of £10,000+) and increasing the number of regular donors through prospecting, cultivation and stewardship. The role requires excellent analytical skills and judgement combined with a highly professional and diplomatic approach. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of effective fundraising techniques and donor stewardship best practice.

Key responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, and engaging high net worth individuals, working on the planning and implementation of a strategy to increase the current pool of major donors to Glyndebourne, managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, and offering the highest level of stewardship to existing donors through appropriately targeted individual events and stewardship throughout the year. The Senior Development Manager will also support the Development team in a year-round programme of events and liaise with supporters face to face.

Applicants must be self-motivated with a proven track record of soliciting major individual gifts of £10,000 and above. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, and experience of using a CRM database is required. Fundraising experience within the arts or charity sector is desirable.

The position involves frequent off-site business meetings and unsociable hours, including weekends during the Glyndebourne Festival, Autumn programme, and at other times of the year.
