Open call for Corona Proof Oral Storytelling Projects

Open call for Corona Proof Oral Storytelling Projects

Monday, 4 May 2020, 5.00pm

This spring 2020, the entire cultural field was put off because of restrictions imposed by the authorities based on the corona pandemic. We are in a difficult situation, where our everyday lives are characterized by chaos and uncertainty. Many artists are in a very vulnerable position financially, this includes oral storytellers.

For oral storytellers, restrictions from the authorities hit hard. All work, all assignments have been cancelled for a long time to come. We cannot perform, we cannot meet to produce new performances, we cannot teach. Organisers experience huge revenue losses and are in a critical financial situation.

The Federation for European Storytelling (FEST) is very concerned about oral storytellers who are in a special position without any kind of safety net.

FEST will therefore support existing digitalisation and media-mediated projects, that show how storytellers organise their activities for a remote audience. Projects such as: live streaming, video, podcasts, webinars to name a few. The requirement for the project is that the accounting must be completed and delivered by 31 May 2020.

Grant: €1500.
