Job Description:
General Manager – Resurgam, 
Ireland’s premier project based choral ensemble

This part-time post involves managing the chamber choir Resurgam (Ireland’s premiere project-based professional vocal ensemble), and working with the choir’s artistic director Mark Duley. The manager will also be able to consult the previous manager Lucy Hayward O’Leary for a full handover. It is envisaged that the amount of work amounts to approximately 2.5 days per week on average, to be allocated according to workflow etc. The contract for this post will run to the end of 2022.

Job description
1. Work with the artistic director on the planning of projects, including 2021 / 2022
2. Managing and reviewing budgets for remaining projects in 2021.
3. Manage all remaining 2021 projects including:
  • Booking all artists and issuing of contractual letters
  • Arranging all travel and accommodation
  • Working with partner organisations and promoters
  • Acting as central point of contact for all artists, partners, etc
  • Appointment of additional staff for each project as necessary
  • Devising and implementing PR/marketing strategy
  • Working with artistic director and local promotors/artists in sourcing local funding and advertising
4. Organise payment of fees, salaries etc
5. Prepare funding applications, including Arts Council annual Arts Grant and up to four
local authority applications annually
6. Manage Arts Council and other partner relationships such as corporate and media partners, venue and festival partnerships. This includes preparing and reporting on all relevant grant applications.
7. Manage and update the website, social media etc
8. Have an excellent understanding of budgets, cash flow and accounts – preferably experience with QuickBooks.
9. Take responsibility for on-going accounting and annual audit procedures.
10. Ensure full tax, financial and legal compliance in all areas
11. Servicing board meetings including scheduling and reporting to the board of directors.
12. Maintain accurate records of all correspondence and financial transactions related to
programme activity and general operations.

The successful candidate should have
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in arts administration
  • Excellent administration skills including MS office, Quickbooks, Wix,
  • A full driving licence and own transport.
  • Experience of web page design and maintenance
  • Knowledge and experience of digital marketing and social media

Terms: 
This is a part time post for a freelance professional on a contract for one year to be renewed annually.

Hours:
The successful candidate will be required to work approx. 2.5 days per week on average but due to the nature of project work, some weeks will require more days than others.

Location:
You will be required to work from home and on location for concerts which could be anywhere in Ireland.

Remuneration: 
The rate of pay will be c.€15,000 p.a. Your freelance invoices will be paid per project or per month, subject to negotiation on your appointment.
