Droichead Arts Centre’s Solo @ Home is a video podcast series curated by SJ McArdle. The series is presented as part of #DroicheadConnects, a programme which supports art and creativity during the pandemic.

The idea of the podcast is to give us an insight into the lockdown experience of four disparate musicians and present a bespoke home-recorded performance by each. The interviews and performances are intimate, engaging and unique to this series. The series will be presented on our youtube channel Droichead.Arts.Centre https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQro862tgmLkiMa4dCuuy6g

Úna Keane is a classically trained pianist with a background in Tech. Inspired by the likes of Max Richter, Laurie Anderson and Arvo Pärt, as well as the pioneering work of the Lumière Brothers & the woodcut prints of Albrecht Dürer, her work lives and breathes in a unique, multidisciplinary space.

Úna released her new Album IN THE DEEP at the end of 2019, with a launch Show at Dublin's D-Light Studios, as well as shows in Galway, Belfast & London. IN THE DEEP expands to include Electronics, Soundscapes and an old Typewriter. Looping and layering piano, spoken word & field recordings means that every performance is unique and creates a level of intimacy between performer and audience. Accompanying projections of her own animated artwork as well as speed-corrected archive film footage has the effect of drawing an audience even further into the music.

"Entrancing" - Hot Press

"Consistently beautiful" - Tony Clayton-Lea

"Go see / hear her strange, soothing genius" - Michael Smiley

As well as Úna, the other artists presented in the Solo @ Home series are: Libyan-Irish songwriter and singer Farah Elle on 6th August; award-winning composer, producer and guitarist Breifne Holohan on 8th August; and and world-renowned flautist Nuala Kennedy on 9th August.
