Moxie

Moxie

Wednesday, 2 October 2019, 8.00pm

Hot (maybe not so fresh but they survived) from the summer festivals season, Moxie return to the Irish venue circuit with an E.P. and left-over merch looking to impress the urgency of their latest compositions to these stages and the tent weary audiences members returning to college, work and the real life on this Oct Irish Tour. From the recycled sofa, tree lined homely stage of Arbutus Yarns at Body & Soul (Please stand on the sofas) to closing out above water hull of the Salty Dog stage at Electric Picnic. Moxie have kept themselves busy with two summer escapades for festival appearances stateside and a 48hr jaunt to the Dark Sky Island of Sark to headline their boutique festival.

Since their debut album Moxie have been busy touring internationally. Highlights include their performance at the Hanoi Opera House, Vietnam and tours in Australia, Europe and North America. This year saw them invited to perform their compositions with RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in the National Concert Hall. These five young lads with traditional backbones deliver a fresh new brand of Irish music heavily influenced by Indie, Electro, Jazz, House, and Rock putting them at the forefront of Irish music. Delivering an energetic, wild and unique live show, Moxie have been inspiring audiences and musicians with their new palette of 21st century Irish music. The band includes Jos Kelly (button accordion/keyboard/moog), Darren Roche (button accordion/percussion/keyboards), Ted Kelly (tenor banjo/electric tenor guitar) Josh Sampson (drums) & Cillian Doheny (tenor banjo/guitar/electric guitar. The band are currently collaborating with the charismatic Tunisan born vocalist Julia Spanu.
