Carole Nelson Trio. Arboreal

Carole Nelson Trio. Arboreal

Thursday, 30 September 2021, 8.00pm

Carole Nelson is a jazz composer who’s career across many musical genres has gathered international awards and critical acclaim. In 2015 she turned her attention to composing for jazz piano trio, releasing the Carole Nelson Trio’s first album One Day in Winter in 2017.
Arboreal, their 2nd album of contemporary jazz, was released in early 2020 and received great reviews in the Irish Times and UK’s All About Jazz Magazine (best jazz albums 2020). Carole’s music is inspired by the landscape of her South Carlow home and the trio of Carole on piano, Dominic Mullan on drums and Cormac O’Brien on bass, bring a lyrical sensibility to her nature-inspired compositions.
