BBC Introducing Series Now Available Online

Series includes performances by British artists who were due to play SXSW.

Following the cancellation of SXSW earlier this month, the British Music Embassy,  BBC Music Introducing and music industry partners hosted a series of closed-door sessions with the musicians who were due to perform at the music festival in Austin, Texas.

Titled ‘The BME Sessions’, the performances were recorded on 16 and 17 March and are now available to watch on the BBC iPlayer and on the the BBC Music YouTube channel.

Artists involved in the series include singer and poet Arlo Parks, alternative-indie act Porridge Radio, London-based Afrobeat band KOKOROKO, R&B songwriter Jordan Mackampa, and indie-pop singer Liz Lawrence. Speaking about the new series, Mackampa said ‘It was awesome to bring six days’ worth of energy into one performance.’

A statement from the British Music Embassy and partners said:

All British Music Embassy partners are committed to showing their support to those who have taken a hit and it’s for this reason we decided to host these studio sessions. Performing at SXSW can be a career-changing opportunity and so we encourage people to share the videos of these incredible performances as far and wide as possible.

Also on the line up for the series are songwriter Bess Atwell, rapper and producer Knucks, London artist collective Steam Down, and indie band Marsicans.
