The Arts Council has announced that it is seeking a new Director.

Reporting to the Board, the Director will lead the senior management team, advocate the importance and value of the arts, oversee strategic investments in arts organisations and artists, and partner with national and local government and agencies to develop the arts.

The Council is seeking someone with strong communication, people and organisational leadership skills; a deep knowledge of and passion for the arts; and credibility with artists, arts organisations and funders.

The deadline for applications is midday on 24 January 2020.

Orlaith McBride is the current Director and was appointed in 2011. She was recently named as the new Director of the National Archives.
