Arts Council Seeking New Members

Role involves six board meetings per year, special-purpose meetings and the chairing of panels for funding decisions.

The Arts Council is seeking applications for three positions on its board. The board currently has ten members and is chaired by Kevin Rafter who was appointed in April of this year. 

Candidates for the new positions must have experience at a senior level in one of the following areas: business/management; young people, children and education; or diversity, equality and inclusion. All applicants should have experience and knowledge of the Irish arts sector.

The role will require the new board members to commit to six board meetings per annum, as well as additional special-purpose meetings that may arise throughout the year. Board members will also chair, annually, at least three ‘peer panels’, which decide on funding allocations across all artforms. The remuneration is €5,985 per year. 

Currently, the members of the Arts Council are Kevin Rafter (chair), Fearghus Ó Conchuir, Paddy Glackin, Loughlin Deegan, Martina Moloney, Helen Shaw, Pádraig Ó Duinnín, Dónall Curtin, Sinéad Moriarty and Mark O’Kelly.
