€25m Live Performance Support Scheme Open for Applications

Awards range from €10,000 upwards; 14 April is the deadline for applications.

A new funding scheme launched by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to support the live music and entertainment industry is now open for applications. The Live Performance Support Scheme, which is worth €25 million, was announced earlier this month as part of a range of new measures to support the sector.

The new scheme follows the pilot Live Performance Support Scheme which was launched last September and is aimed towards commercial venues, producers and promoters in the cultural, creative and music industries. The awards will range from €10,000 upwards and will support the creation of employment opportunities in the sector, as well as the production of high quality artistic output.

The scheme is intended for performances and events taking place until 30 September 2021 and aims to support musicians and industry professionals in all genres to continue to develop work in the context of COVID-19 restrictions.

The deadline for applications is 14 April at 1pm.

Commenting on the new Live Performance Support Scheme, Minister Catherine Martin, said:

This scheme, which has been welcomed as part of the recently announced €50 million suite of measures to support the live entertainment sector, will provide vital support and opportunities for continued activity in the sector and much needed entertainment that we all have enjoyed so much recently.

This will further help venues, promoters and producers to plan events. Furthermore, the benefits will be shared widely, assisting promoters and venues to employ artists, musicians, performers, technicians and other support staff in live performances.
