€700k in Culture Ireland Funding Announced for Irish Music and Arts Abroad
Minister for Arts Catherine Martin has announced funding of over €700k by Culture Ireland for Irish music and arts abroad in 2022.
Funding of €616k was announced for the December round of Culture Ireland’s awards, and an additional €100k has been allocated for Seoda 2022, an online festival during the St Patrick’s Day period.
Among the recipients in the music category are Pillow Queens, who will undertake a tour of USA and Canada in March and April; Just Mustard, who will tour the USA and support Fontaines D.C. in an EU tour during the same period; Dervish, who will tour USA and Canada in February and March; THUMPER, who tour Europe; and the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Rachel Podger who will perform at Oxford and Cambridge in the UK in June.
Also receiving awards for touring and concerts abroad are Junior Brother, CMAT, Susan O’Neill, Screaming Orphans, Téada, Fears, Silverbacks, Sharon Shannon, Aoife Scott, Gatehouse, Fionnuala Moynihan and Diarmaid Moynihan, Bantum and Loah, and Robocobra Quartet.
